Why is it important that I give my name as it appears on my passport when booking air?
Due to increased travel security around the world, it is now more important than ever that your airline ticket match your first and last name exactly as it reads on your passport. Additionally any changes to your air booking, which include spelling, could be subject to a change fee, penalties or cancellation.
What size can my suitcase be? How many bags may I bring?
Each airline has its own policy regarding baggage allowances. Prior to your trip Carroll International Travel will supply you or your travel agent with the name of the airline(s) that we will use. We recommend that you visit the airline’s web-site to determine their baggage policy in the United States.
In general, baggage in the motorcoach will be limited to two bags per person.
What if I am traveling by myself?
Your trip is priced on two people sharing a hotel room. If you are traveling by yourself, it will be necessary to pay a single supplement fee. If you are willing to share a room with another guest, let us know and we will match you to another guest of the same gender, if possible.
Do I need a credit card?
Your room and tax will be paid prior to your arrival at a hotel. However, if you want to obtain any incidental services, such as room service, in-room movies, telephone calls, spa services, etc. you will need to give the hotel a credit card at check in.
On shopping excursions you may use U.S. dollars.
What is the weather like?
The weather in the United States will vary. Los Angeles will most likely be moderate. Las Vegas is likely to be hot and dry. The east coast of the United States will vary the most, depending on time of year visited. We will provide information pertaining to your particular trip with final confirmation.
At what types of restaurants will I dine?
Breakfast will be American style. We will make every effort to dine at Chinese restaurants whenever possible.
What is the electrical current?
The United States uses 120V, 60Hz electrical current. Click here to see the types of outlet plugs that you will need. http://ita.doc.gov/td/industry/otea/ecw/us.html
What is not included in the price that I pay?
You will be expected to pay for any shopping, additional services or meals not outlined at hotels, excursions that you take on your own, taxi cabs you take on your own, costs of checking baggage with the airlines and associated gratuities.
Should I tip anyone?
Tips are included for any meal or activity that Carroll International Travel has arranged.
Tipping may be extended when a service is offered above and beyond what would normally be expected. In the United States, many workers depend on tips for their livelihood.
While we will include an appropriate tip in the cost of any meals that we arrange, tips of 15 – 20% given to a waiter are normal when you dine on your own.
Tips of 10% are normal when taking a taxi cab.
Tips of a dollar or two per bag are normal to anyone who handles your bag at an airport or hotel.
If hotel doorman obtains a taxi for you, it is a courtesy to extend a tip of a dollar or two (more if it is raining!).
